Woman safe after seen yelling for help from moving vehicle in Kitchener: WRPS

Police say a woman is safe after being seen in the passenger seat of a speeding car yelling for help on Friday late afternoon.

At around 5:30 p.m., Waterloo Region Police were called to the area of Highland Road West and Ira Needles Boulevard.

The witness told police that they saw a driver speeding through a parking lot with the passenger door open and a child’s arm hanging outside. They said they could hear the kid yelling for help.

Initially believed to be a child, police confirmed the person in distress was a woman, in a news release on Sunday at around 3:30 pm.

According to police, the woman was eventually able to exit the car safely.

Police said they’re still looking to identify the owner and driver of the vehicle.

The vehicle is a white two-door convertible with a black top.
