Toronto police are looking for help in locating a witness known as "Addy" who may know more about the shooting death of an innocent bystander late last month.

Bailey Zaveda was caught in the crossfire resulting from an argument between two men at Leslieville's Duke of York Tavern in the early hours of Oct. 25.

Days later, 24-year-old Kyle Weese surrendered to police in connection with the brazen shooting and now faces a charge of second-degree murder. Police had issued a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest.

Police now believe Addy may be able to give them more information on what happened that night, saying he is a Duke of York regular who was outside the bar at the time of the shooting.

"He had been inside, and came outside at the time of the shooting," says Det. Sgt. Gary Giroux. "He's clearly a witness and he's someone we'd like to come forward voluntarily.

"He's not a suspect in any way."

Giroux says police had been trying to find Addy for some time but decided to go public after their search yielded no results.

He is described as a light-skinned black man with a muscular build and a possible East Coast accent. He is about six feet tall, 30 years old and has a shaved head.

He was last seen wearing a knitted khaki-green baseball cap, a grey sweater and dark pants, and is also known to frequent the Alpine Hotel on Kingston Road.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 416-808-7387 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
