Amber MacArthur

New Media Specialist

Amber MacArthur

Amber MacArthur joined the CP24 news team in August 2006 as the New Media Specialist.

Prior to hosting Webnation at CP24, Amber worked for two years hosting and producing three technology programs at G4TechTV, which aired in Canada, the U.S., and Australia.  She has worked as a columnist for CBC-TV and CBC-Radio, and has worked at KQED-Radio in California.

Amber continues to host and produce two popular technology podcasts, commandN.tv and TWiT.tv's, and manages new media consulting firm MGImedia, which she co-founded in 2007.

As a technology strategist, Amber has consulted on projects in San Francisco, Boston, and Toronto for clients such as Microsoft, Adobe, and Anthony Robbins.  She has also worked for a number of start-ups in San Francisco during the dot-com boom and was a judge for The Webby Awards while in the Bay Area.

Amber appears regularly as a Keynote Speaker at events in Canada and the U.S. where she discusses the impact of Web 2.0 technologies on the way we live, work, and play.

Away from her computer but still sticking with the high-tech theme, Amber is an active member of Women in Technology International and the Little Geeks organization in Toronto.
