Jackie Crandles

Anchor, CP24 and Host, HOT PROPERTY
Jackie Crandles

CP24 anchor and Host of HOT PROPERTY Jackie Crandles joined CP24 in April 2012 as a remote host, becoming an anchor in 2014. Prior to joining the CP24 team, Crandles spent just over four years as a reporter, anchor, and weather specialist for CTV Barrie where she honed her skills for live and tight deadline reporting.

Career milestones to date include covering the 2014 municipal election, and the trip to Austin taken by then Mayor Rob Ford and other Toronto city officials in support of the Austin-Toronto Music City Alliance. Crandles has been a reporting force on the streets for CP24, as one of the first reporters on the scene of the Toronto Eaton Centre shootings in June 2012, and covering the 2012 Diamond Jubilee visit to Toronto by Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Prior to graduating from post-secondary studies, Crandles got her feet wet in production as a chase producer for CTV News Channel, then known as CTV NewsNet. She learned the building blocks of live breaking television news and applied that knowledge to an internship with TV Ontario (TVO) where she was a researcher and producer, and contributed to TVO’s online blog. Next, Crandles parlayed an internship with 680 News into her first on-air position in radio as a traffic reporter.

While at school at York University for an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and Seneca College joint program in Broadcast Journalism, Crandles excelled in writing, winning the Susan Anton Clark award for academic achievement from York University and “Best Writer” award at Seneca College media awards. She was also the Valedictorian of her graduating class from Seneca College.

Crandles followed the Toronto Blue Jays on their quest to reach the World Series in 2015 and 2016, with stops in Kansas City, Arlington, Texas, and Cleveland. She also travelled with the Toronto Raptors to Miami to cover their run in the 2016 NBA playoffs. While on the road, she gathered reactions from fans who had travelled from across Canada to cheer on their teams.

In her spare time, Crandles is an avid runner, reader, and camper. Her family, friends, and husband Jamie are what matter most in life for her.
